Recorded in 1984 and unreleased until 2022, Kiren captures acclaimed Japanese saxophonist, producer, and composer Yasuaki Shimizu at a creative peak. Working with collaborators Aki Ikuta and Morio Watanabe, Shimizu crafted a mystifying collection of experimental dance music, layering cutting-edge studio production over off-kilter rhythms and melodies. It explores the intersections of fusion, synth-pop, new wave, and jazz.
