Mondo presents Tangerine Dream's essential synth soundtrack to Michael Mann's 1980 directorial debut Thief. Years before Manhunter, Heat, and Miami Vice, Mann took his first crack at the gritty crime genre with a film starring James Caan, and Tangerine Dream's pulsing, neon-lit score was markedly bold and revolutionary for the genre at the time. Their work here kicked off an electronic film-score wave and remains one of the most iconic and influential soundtracks of its era. Housed in a die-cut package designed by Jay Shaw with liner notes by David Sims, pressed on 180 gram black vinyl.
