Released in May 2006, Broken Boy Soldiers was the debut from The Raconteurs, the band led by Jack White and Brendan Benson with Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler. Its first single, "Steady, As She Goes," became a radio hit, and the album charted at #7 on the Billboard 200 and #2 in the UK. The record's mix of warm harmonies, explosive guitars and catchy, sometimes psychedelic rock made it an infectious and distinctive success.
