In 1965, just one year after Paul Butterfield formed his blues band, the group cut this dynamic and visionary album, one of the finest to emerge from the white Chicago blues scene. Spanning traditional standards, soulful jazz numbers like Nat Adderley's "Work Song," and the raga-influenced title track, East-West fuses blues, rock, jazz and Eastern melodies, propelled by Mike Bloomfield's pioneering guitar work. Remastered by Speakers Corner using pure analogue components from the original master tapes through to the cutting head.
