Purple is the second studio album by Stone Temple Pilots, released June 7, 1994 on Atlantic Records. Building on the foundation of their debut Core, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and stayed there for three weeks, eventually selling over six million copies. It spawned the hits "Vasoline" and "Interstate Love Song," both number one on the Mainstream Rock chart, along with "Big Empty."
