Goo is the sixth studio album by Sonic Youth, released in 1990 as their major-label debut for DGC following Daydream Nation. Recorded in early 1990 with producer Nick Sansano, it pushed the band toward a more accessible sound — blending experimental rock, garage punk, alternative and hard rock — while keeping their signature edge. Lead single 'Kool Thing' became one of their best-known songs.
