The "Father of the Delta Blues," Son House recorded this namesake Columbia LP in 1965, a cornerstone of the 1960s folk-blues revival. Just House and his bottleneck acoustic guitar, the recording captures the terrifying intensity of rural, unamplified blues — from the voice-only "John the Revelator" to the searing "Death Letter Blues." This Analogue Productions edition was remastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound from the original master tapes and pressed on 200-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings.
