Planet Zero is the most ambitious work to date from multi-platinum rock band Shinedown — a high-concept, viscerally charged saga that's part social commentary and part exploration of the human psyche. Produced by bassist Eric Bass at his Big Animal Studio in South Carolina, it pairs immersive world-building with a deliberately unvarnished sound, spliced with interludes featuring the unsettling robot character Cyren. Raw ferocity on tracks like "The Saints of Violence and Innuendo" and "America Burning" is balanced by hope and triumph on "Daylight" and "A Symptom of Being Human."
