Genesis of Genius gathers Ornette Coleman's two albums for Lester Koenig's Contemporary Records — his first recordings as a bandleader, Something Else!!!! (1958) and Tomorrow Is the Question! (1959). Newly mastered by Bernie Grundman and cut from the original analog tapes to lacquer, the 180-gram set is pressed at RTI with tip-on jackets that replicate the originals. The deluxe box also includes a 32-page booklet with archival photos and new liner notes by Grammy-winning historian Ashley Kahn.
