All-Analog HQ-180 Vinyl, Mastered by Chris Bellman from the Original Analog Master Tapes, Pressed at RTI
Trumpeter Kenny Dorham's under-appreciated 1962 quintet date, available on all-analog HQ-180 vinyl for the first time. Recorded in a single day with Jackie McLean on alto saxophone, Bobby Timmons on piano, Teddy Smith on bass and J.C. Moses on drums, the session pairs spontaneous, expressive playing with approachable post-bop structure — including the three-part McLean suite "Melanie" and Dorham's smoldering "El Matador." Chris Bellman cut this Impex edition from the original analog master tape.
