Released in 1964, Crescent is one of John Coltrane's finest albums, featuring his classic quartet of McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison and Elvin Jones. Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder's Englewood Cliffs studio, it is an introspective, deeply lyrical set that Garrison's widow recalled was — alongside A Love Supreme — one of the two records her husband returned to most. This Acoustic Sounds Series reissue was mastered by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog tapes and pressed at Quality Record Pressings.
