Founded in the early 1980s by bishop Larry H. Jordan and brother-in-law Frank Tinsley, Enlightment were among the first to fuse modern R&B production with gospel themes. Their 1984 debut Faith Is The Key barely reached stores when their distributor and pressing plant folded — making original copies a holy grail for collectors. Reissued through Nature Sounds for RSD Essentials on sunglow-colored vinyl.
