Watercolor is the long-awaited Sub Pop debut from Seattle MC Porter Ray, who was signed to the label by Shabazz Palaces' Ishmael Butler. A deeply personal snapshot of Porter and his friends growing up in a rapidly changing Seattle, the album draws on hip-hop touchstones like Nas's Illmatic and Mos Def & Talib Kweli's Black Star. Produced primarily by B Roc and mostly mixed by Erik Blood, it features guests including Stas Thee Boss, Cashtro, JusMoni, and Chimurenga Renaissance.
