Wish You Were Here is the ninth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in September 1975 and recorded at Abbey Road Studios. Several of its songs critique the music business, while others reflect on absence and alienation; the epic "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" is a tribute to former bandmate Syd Barrett and bookends the album in two parts. Long regarded by fans and by band members David Gilmour and Richard Wright as among Pink Floyd's finest work, it remains a landmark of progressive rock.
