The 20th OCS / Oh Sees release and the 100th Castle Face title, Memory of a Cut Off Head re-examines the project's quieter roots in lush, baroque fashion. Co-written by John Dwyer with longtime collaborator Brigid Dawson and recorded at Dwyer's own studio, it's sumptuous in texture yet retains the gentle grace of the earliest material, with beautifully executed string arrangements by Heather Lockie, horns by Mikal Cronin, and Patrick Mullins returning on saw and electronics.
