The 1965 album I Put a Spell on You features some of Nina Simone's best-known songs, including her cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You." Where the original gave the song an ironic theme, Simone transformed it into a thrilling love song complete with horns and strings, and it became one of her signature recordings — she later used the title for her 1992 autobiography. This Acoustic Sounds Series reissue from Verve and Universal Music Enterprises was mastered from the original analog tapes and pressed at Quality Record Pressings.
