Nick Drake's third and final album, from 1972, is considered by many to be his finest moment. A radical departure from his earlier orchestral work, Pink Moon strips everything back to Drake alone on vocals, acoustic guitar, and a single piano overdub. Its eleven short songs run under half an hour, and though it found little commercial success in his lifetime, the title track's later use in a Volkswagen commercial introduced his music to a vast new audience.
