Legacy of Brutality is a compilation of early Misfits recordings, drawing mainly on the unreleased January–February 1978 Static Age sessions. Mixed and produced by Glenn Danzig, it brought many of those early tracks to a wider audience and is one of the few releases to include "American Nightmare" and "Who Killed Marilyn?"
