It's 1964, and the first Berlin Jazz Festival reaches its peak with Miles Davis's closing concert at the Philharmonie on September 25th. This was the new quintet's first outing with Wayne Shorter on tenor sax, and they thrilled the audience with fast-paced takes on the classics and tender, dreamy ballads, helped along by the hall's excellent acoustics. Remastered using pure analogue components only, from the master tapes through to the cutting head.
