The second full-length solo album from New Jersey's Mikey Erg, drummer and principal songwriter of The Ergs! A departure from his pop-punk roots, Waxbuilt Castles was recorded with multi-instrumentalist Alex Clute and takes its inspiration from the melodicism and craft of '70s pop rock — ELO, Elvis Costello, Phil Ochs, and especially the Beatles — with Erg singing in a quieter, more vulnerable register over his trademark personal, relationship-driven songs.
