Sacred Spaces was an album many years in the making for Emmy-winning composer Michael Whalen. Begun as a classical string symphony inspired by his search for a spiritual path, it was reconceived in 2018 as a large-scale electronic and ambient work. Over three months Whalen created more than 800 sounds, textures, loops and timbres, drawing on three decades of sound-design experience to build an entirely new sonic palette for this meditative 2020 release.
