Melissa Etheridge stumbled upon these decades-old songs and demos while gathering material for a retrospective box set. Returning to them brought her back to the start of her career — some were written before she had even come out and never felt right to release at the time. In 2013 she re-recorded them at Henson Studios in Los Angeles with her original band (Fritz Lewak, John Shanks, Kevin McCormick), and after years on the shelf the time was finally right. Fans get a deeper glimpse of who Melissa was then.
