On Phantom Forest, Lydia Ainsworth introduces a lush, complex dream world that she created and largely inhabits on her own. It's a vast collection of art pop with hooks about the search for personal connection amid apocalypse and technology — music that holds up to close listening as readily as it works on the dance floor. Ainsworth wrote and performed nearly everything herself, including her own string arrangements, with a re-imagined cover of Pink Floyd's "Green Is the Colour" and two tracks co-written with Survive's Kyle Dixon (Stranger Things).
