The Opening, Or Closing Of A Door is a paean to the sensory world and the first album Kristine Leschper has released under her given name, having retired the Mothers moniker. Where that project drew on stark post-punk and contemporary folk, this work is practically baroque, integrating synthesizers, strings, woodwinds and more than a dozen percussion instruments. Largely self-recorded at home, it gave Leschper the freedom to set her personal ethos to music.
