Hasta El Cielo is Khruangbin's glorious dub reworking of their acclaimed second album Con Todo El Mundo, reprocessed anew with two bonus dubs by renowned Jamaican producer Scientist. The Texan trio's exotic, spacious, psychedelic funk — Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar, and Donald "DJ" Johnson on drums — takes naturally to the meditative, time-suspending dub treatment. For the band, dub has always felt like a prayer: spacious, transportive, able to carry the listener to another realm.
