On their 2018 second album, globetrotting Texan trio Khruangbin — Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar and Donald "DJ" Johnson on drums — turn from the Southeast Asian influences of their debut toward the funk and soul of the Middle East, particularly Iran. The result is a hypnotic, largely instrumental groove: melodic low end, lyrical guitar lines and a steady backbeat, all filtered through the band's unmistakable vibe. The title comes from Laura Lee's grandfather's question, answered "Con todo el mundo" — with all the world.
