Issued in 1973 just as Stax began to crumble, John Gary Williams's lone solo album sold poorly at the time but stands today as a classy, deeply soulful affair from start to finish. The magnificent The Whole Damn World Is Going Crazy is a standout, but the whole set rewards repeated listening.
