Inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame during his lifetime, "Big Joe" Turner expressed his attitude to life with 12-bar stylistic freedom. Having shared stages with Goodman, Ellington, Tatum, Gillespie and Eldridge, here he offers many facets of the blues — from the fast boogie-woogie of "Switchin' In The Kitchen" to ballad-like evergreens such as "Pennies From Heaven." Jazz champions including Coleman Hawkins and Ernie Royal take solos, and the open, unfiltered Atlantic sound puts the soloists right in your living room. This Speakers Corner LP was remastered using pure analogue components only, from the master tapes through to the cutting head.
