Gram Parsons pioneered the blending of rock and country, playing with the Byrds, the International Submarine Band, and the Flying Burrito Brothers. Compiled from 1973 sessions and released in 1974, four months after his death, Grievous Angel was his second solo album and a defining example of the "Cosmic American Music" he championed. In 2003 it was ranked among Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
