Legendary pianist Eugene Istomin joins conductor Gerard Schwarz and the Seattle Symphony Orchestra for Mozart's Piano Concertos No. 21 in C Major and No. 24 in C Minor. Istomin and Schwarz insisted on recording in long, complete takes to capture the live experience, and Reference Recordings' Keith Johnson rewards them with natural, high-resolution string textures and a huge, three-dimensional soundstage. Recorded in 1995 at St. Thomas Center, Bothell, Washington; the CD version was named Recording of the Month by Stereophile in May 1996.
