Knitting Factory Records reissues Fela Kuti's J.J.D. (Johnny Just Drop), previously only available as part of the Box Set series, with original cover art by Lemi Ghariokwu. Originally released in 1977 and recorded live at Kalakuta Republik, the album finds Fela lampooning Nigeria's "been-tos" — those who went to Europe or America and returned home with European pretensions and an inferiority complex about African culture. The audio has been restored and remastered from Fela's original Nigerian recordings.
