Natural Light finds Eric Bibb at his very best, produced once again by longtime bassist Dave Bronze. Bibb's warm voice and guitar shine throughout, from solo acoustic numbers to full-band cuts, with most of the songs self-penned and marked by wise storytelling and witty lyrics. Highlights include the BB King tribute "Tell Riley," the gospel-tinged "Right On Time," a guest appearance from Howlin' Wolf guitarist Hubert Sumlin on "Too Much Stuff," and a superb cover of Jackie Wilson's "Higher and Higher."
