Released in October 1976, Blue Moves is Elton John's eleventh studio album and his second double LP, the first issued on his own Rocket Records label. Despite its darker, more reflective tone it reached number three, carried by its biggest hit single, "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word." Elton has named it one of his personal favorites, with lush string arrangements by James Newton Howard throughout.
