One of Eddie Harris' great records, with an inspired band built around Lee Morgan's favorite rhythm section of pianist Cedar Walton and drummer Billy Higgins. Here the underrated tenor saxophonist introduces "Freedom Jazz Dance," which became a jazz standard after Miles Davis covered it on Miles Smiles. Harris is heard in prime form in a quartet/quintet with Walton, bassist Ron Carter, Higgins, and part-time trumpeter Ray Codrington, romping through "Love for Sale" and "'S Wonderful." A gem.
