Originally conceived as a triple album before being pared down to a single disc, it conjures dark, swampy New Orleans voodoo-funk steeped in Cajun folklore — best heard, as Dr. John intended, on a hot, sultry night with thunder rolling in the distance. Remastered using pure analogue components only, from the master tapes through to the cutting head.
