Conquistador! is an essential 1966 album by pianist Cecil Taylor, part of the Blue Note reissue campaign. Built around two side-long tracks, it finds Taylor joined by Bill Dixon (trumpet), Jimmy Lyons (alto sax), Henry Grimes and Alan Silva (bass) and Andrew Cyrille (drums). One of three albums from his pivotal 1966 period alongside Unit Structures and Student Studies, it remains a landmark of free jazz.
