Boz Scaggs's self-titled 1969 album was his breakthrough, recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Alabama with legendary guitarist Duane Allman and the top-class soul session players who had backed Aretha Franklin and Wilson Pickett. Scaggs sings a series of lyrical, blues-inspired songs, finely balanced between intimate small-group settings and richer arrangements. Highlights include the yodelling hobo song "Waiting For A Train" and the show-stopping blues number "Loan Me A Dime." Remastered using pure analogue components only, from the master tapes through to the cutting head.
