The self-titled debut from Canadian artist Boniface — the project of Winnipeg musician Micah Visser — is a diary-like catalogue of coming-of-age experiences set against a sprawling backdrop. Visser reflects on falling in love and facing heartbreak while wrestling with identity, finding beauty within the pain. Written largely at home and finished in London with producer Neil Comber (Charli XCX, M.I.A., Glass Animals), it's both bracingly honest and exhilarating.
