Mutations is Beck's third official studio album, released in 1998 on DGC Records. Though less commercially aimed than its predecessor Odelay, it established Beck as an eclectic, innovative artist through its sample-free blend of folk rock, bossa nova, psychedelia, country and blues, and won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Produced by Nigel Godrich, the record is rich with Moog keyboards, acoustic guitars and string arrangements.
