The Stage (2016) is the seventh studio album by Avenged Sevenfold — a concept album about artificial intelligence and the self-destruction of society, and the band's first to feature drummer Brooks Wackerman. Inspired by the writings of Carl Sagan and Elon Musk, it pushes into progressive metal territory, with "Exist" closing on a spoken-word appearance written and delivered by Neil deGrasse Tyson.
