Recorded in Asheville, North Carolina during the summer of 2020, Aisles finds Angel Olsen reinterpreting five 1980s songs she'd overheard drifting through grocery-store aisles. Turning the familiar inside out — a slowed-down, dreamlike take on Laura Branigan's "Gloria," a quarantine-era reading of "Safety Dance" — the EP is a looser, more spontaneous Olsen having fun with the songs that shaped her. Released on her own somethingscosmic imprint via Jagjaguwar.
