Written during a solo artist residency in a snowbound Oregon cabin — her first stretch alone since becoming a mother — it became the most piano-driven album of her career after a broken thumbnail sidelined her signature fingerpicking. The Portland singer-songwriter explores the weight and beauty of motherhood and creating life, joined by contributors including Ryan Francesconi, Rob Burger, Peter Broderick, Heather Woods Broderick, Luke Ydstie and Daniel Hunt. Produced by Peter M. Murray and mixed by Noah Georgeson.
